Our permanent galleries highlight aspects of the nearly 200 years since the township’s founding.
- The model train gallery shows the village and surrounding area as they looked in 1910.
- The main gallery features antique furniture and objects depicting early domestic life. Other displays document the area’s service members, scouting, recreation, religion, educational institutions, and businesses.

Artists, painters, illustrators, cartoonists, graphic artists, muralists, portraitists, they all shared their art with the world through the posters developed during World War II.

At the museum, we maintain a small library with photographs, books, and other printed materials relating to important people, places, and topics in township history.
Hamburg Township’s First Families

The DeWolf Family of Hamburg Township
The DeWolf family homestead still stands on M-36 and has been in continuous use by the family since Jason DeWolf built it in 1856/1857. During her presentation, Vicky DeWolf displayed a number of family heirlooms she found in the attic, including Bibles, a handmade lace-edged tablecloth, and locks of hair.
The Dunlavy Family of Hamburg Township

The Winans Family of Hamburg Township
