The Historical Society

The Hamburg Township Historical Society, which owns and operates the museum, was established in 2004 by residents interested in preserving and presenting the history of the area.

The museum is located in one of the most historic buildings in the old village of Hamburg. Erected in 1865 as a worship space for a Methodist congregation, the building and its additions later housed the township offices and library. The museum moved into the building in 2006.

Board of Directors and Staff

The society board is made up of up to nine community members plus a liaison from the Hamburg Township board of trustees. The board meets the third Saturday of every month at the museum at 9:30 a.m.
