This is a two-session project. Session 1: Saturday, May 31, 12:00 – 1:30 PM. Start the chick and practice short rows Session 2: Wednesday, June 18, 6:00 – 7:30 PM. Stuff your chick and sew it together. Working on this adorable LITTLE CHICK is a great way to practice the ‘short row’ knitting technique.
Cost: Classes are free for members, $10 for nonmembers Pattern is $5.50 for each knitter
Class size: limited to 6 Skills required: knowledge of cast on, knit and purl stitches
Ages: 10 – Adult Note: PERMISSION SLIP (available at museum welcome desk) required for participants under age 18.
Supplies provided: SOLID color yarns are available free for class members. Also supplied: mustard color yarn for beak, red yarn for comb, 2 safety eyes, and fiberfill stuffing Supplies to bring :Size 7 16″ circular needle and /or a set of size 7 double point sock needles darning / yarn needle in week 2. (if you have a favorite in your yarn stash at home, feel free to bring along about 50 yards of any multi or solid color worsted(#4) weight yarn (optional).
